Giving teachers new insights on student performance and providing paths to improvement

The amazing educators I’ve spoken with want to support their students, whether they’re in a classroom or hand-selected for extra attention and support. Lexia’s Core5 product introduced a path for students to practice skills, but teachers didn’t yet have a way to dig into where students struggled most.

The problem

  • Core5—our Pre-K to 5th grade reading platform— lacked a way to concretely measure student progress, compared to our other products.

  • Our content and research teams developed a new series of tasks for students called Skill Activities, showing what parts of their reading journey they were excelling in or needed assistance with.

  • Skill Checks (the umbrella for Skill Activities) didn’t have an existing report to add new content to.

  • We wondered how we might give educators insight into the Skill Checks and Activities for students and classes, so that they may assist students in need and identify lesson pain points.
